Citra 3DS Emulator can run on Windows, Mac OS & Linux 64 Bit. Check if your PC meets system requirements to run and play 3DS Emulator smooth.
- Platform: right now Citra supports Windows – Linux – OS X. In Windows, only the 64-bit version is acceptable. The developers of Citra have no plans to support 32-bit version. There can be mobile platforms in the far future.
- The hard requirements: a graphics chip supports OpenGL 3.3 and above, a 64-bit version of Windows (Windows 7 is the best choice), a processor with the highest possible performance per core. Please notice that Citra is not fast enough to run games at full speed.
- When you try to start any games, Citra crashes immediately. At first, maybe you can try to update your graphics card’s driver to the latest version. If this doesn’t help, you can think about upgrading the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit). The last method to resolve this is wait for the limitation removal of sofware renderer from the Citra developers. The hardware renderer will never support lower OpenGL versions.
- If possible, please install Visual C++ 2012 – 2013 – 2015 (both in 32-bit and 64-bit). If you download and place any DLL files in the Citra or a system folder, please remove it because it can cause system instability. And if there is no effect, extract the DLL files come with Citra builds and they must be the same directory with the executable file.
